Home Hotel Jugend is located on Lönnrotinkatu in a magnificent, 120-year-old Art Nouveau castle. With 171 rooms and 8 unique meeting and event spaces, this stone castle of a thousand details is one of Helsinki’s most beloved Jugendstil buildings, crowned by the spectacular Jugend Hall. Authenticity, courage, and warmth are the core values that guide everything we do here, supported by a diverse, vibrant, and highly motivated team.
Now, we are looking for a General Manager who wants to step into this extraordinary, historic property and drive Jugend forward into its next exciting phase.
What you’ll do:
You will be the heart of a house where relationships mean everything. You are a down-to-earth, independent, hands-on leader who is secure, unassuming, and loves to be where the action is. Your natural place is on the floor, deeply connected with both your team and your guests.
You lead with trust, empathy, and genuine care, understanding the value of preserving the strong, multicultural culture the team has built together. At the same time, you are commercially driven with a sharp financial mind. In a historic building, property and facility management and maintenance will naturally be on your desk and that requires documented experience.
You love hitting ambitious goals, but you know that true profitability is born out of authentic hospitality and strong relationships. You see business opportunities in everything, balance a strategic mindset with high operational presence, and know that leadership is about being the type of person who gets things done, solves problems, and is simply great to be around.

Key traits we value:
Strong, documented leadership experience from the hospitality or service industry, with a deeply empathetic, guest-first mindset and ability for independent decision making.
A proven track record of managing budgets, KPIs, and driving growth and profitability.
Property and facility management and maintenance knowledge.
A natural ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with being operational, creative, and resourceful in solving daily challenges.
Professional fluency in Finnish and English is required for this role. Knowledge of Swedish is considered a distinct advantage.
