Opened on the 1st of September 2022, Sommerro is an exciting new addition to Oslo’s hotel scene and we are looking for passionate team members to join our community.

Occupying the former headquarters for Oslo Lysverker - the city’s electrical company - Sommerro is Oslo’s first neighbourhood hotel and marks the rebirth of a 1930s landmark. It is a dynamic open house for the culture hungry, with 242 comfy rooms and suites, three in-house restaurants, meeting and events spaces, a subterranean spa, and the city’s first rooftop pool and terrace that overlooks Frogner, one of Oslo’s oldest and finest areas.

We are looking for someone organised, passionate, and professional, who will play a crucial role in creating the Sommerro experience and our shared conscious attitude towards sustainability. The successful candidate will work efficiently alongside the management team as part of a strong and effective department that will oversee the support of our food and beverage offerings including our events catering, breakfast, room service and  three  of our in house restaurants:  Ekspedisjonshallen, an all-day dining outlet with a menu of classic brasserie favourites, Tak & Izakaya our Japanese Nordic concept by Frida Ronge from Tak Stockholm and To Søstre, an elegant venue that serves afternoon.

 Responsibilities

  • Follow routines and systems in place at Sommerro for hygiene/cleaning
  • Ensuring shifts are covered and organised in line with business
  • Control of cleaning equipment and stock control for all outlets
  • Communication -- Work closely with other departments and communicate important issues in a timely way.
  • IK-MAT -- Ensure that internal control routines are followed and documented in the appropriate format.
  • Cleaning -Conduct cleaning tasks as required, 
  • Assist with basic kitchen production when needed
  • Training of effective and correct use of equipment and chemicals
  • Report and communicate with department heads to ensure organised running of all outlets
  • Waste control
  • Training of new employees

Requirements:

  • Read, write and communicate effectively in English or a Scandinavian language
  • Computer literacy is a bonus
  • Previous kitchen steward experience 
  • Structured and organised
  • Ik mat/haccp experience
  • Reliable and Structured
