Last week, we made history with our first-ever Strawberry Talent Hunt in Gothenburg, where 13 of our hotels came together for a unique recruitment event. Over 1500 candidates applied, and more then 450 candidates were invited to join us for an unforgettable day of hands-on experience in hospitality.
Instead of traditional interviews, candidates jumped straight into real tasks for the specific role they had applied for: following housekeeping instructions, serving and quality-checking the breakfast buffet, and welcoming guests at the front desk. The event had an amazing atmosphere with a live DJ, goodie bags, and 70 dedicated colleagues from across our hotels and HQs. This wasn’t just about hiring—it was about showing what it’s like to be part of Strawberry.
With a focus on potential rather than CVs, we used Alva Labs personality tests and screening questions to ensure we found the right fit and gave everyone a fair chance. Diversity and inclusion were at the heart of this event, with a special fast-track process for Realgymnasiet students and collaboration with DEI partners like Beredskapslyftet and Mångfaldsbyrån.
