We are now looking for a Report Analyst to our Insight & Analytics team, that will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports that provide valuable insights into an organization's data. Their primary role is to gather requirements from stakeholders, analyze data sources, and create reports that present information in a clear and meaningful way.
THE ROLE
Key responsibilities:
Create and manage a platform of central (enterprise) reports and dashboards.
Designing and developing BI reports and dashboards: You will be involved in understanding the business requirements, designing the data model, and developing visualisations that provide actionable insights using Power BI and Tableau.
Data management: You will be responsible for managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.
Collaborating with stakeholders: You will work closely with various stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, Business users, to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet their needs. You will act as a bridge between business and technical team to understand data requirements and drive data-driven initiatives.
Ensuring data accuracy: You will be responsible to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented in the dashboards and reports. This involves validating the data and implementing quality checks.
Training end-users: You shall be training end-users on how to use the dashboards and reports effectively. This includes explaining how to interpret the data and make data-driven decisions.
Troubleshooting and maintenance: You will be responsible to troubleshoot data-related issues and maintain the Power BI infrastructure to ensure it's up-to-date and running smoothly.
Staying updated: The data analysis and visualization field is constantly evolving. Power BI developers need to stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices to leverage them effectively.
Data security: Ensuring data security is another important responsibility. This involves implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.
Report Optimisation: Optimise report performance by fine-tuning queries, implementing efficient data models, and applying best practices. Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining report generation processes.
Implement best practices:
Utilise visual design principles to create intuitive and easy-to-understand reports. Choose appropriate charts, graphs, and visual elements to present data effectively and enhance data-driven decision-making.
Optimise report performance by fine-tuning queries, implementing efficient data models, and applying best practices. Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining report generation processes.
Keep the solution updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices to leverage them effectively
Documentation: Document report specifications, data mappings, and development processes. Maintain an updated inventory of reports and associated documentation.
Data Governance: You will ensure that data governance principles are applied, maintained and followed.
WHO ARE YOU
Qualifications:
Technical Skills: A few years in a similar role, a sound understanding of data analysis and visualisation principles and proficiency in Tableau. and Power BI . Knowledge of SQL for database querying and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating custom calculations in Power BI is crucial. Also, familiarity with data modeling concepts and database systems is preferred.
Data Visualisation: Ability to design visually appealing and user-friendly reports and dashboards. Understanding of best practices in data visualisation to effectively communicate insights.
Problem-solving skills: You may often encounter complex data-related problems that require innovative solutions. Strong problem-solving skills are therefore essential.
Attention to detail: Given the importance of data accuracy, you need to have excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in data and correct them proactively.
Communication skills: You shall be collaborating with various stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and data engineers. This role will require excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and present findings in a clear and concise manner. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Fluency in Swedish (both written and spoken) is preferred.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights. Attention to detail in data validation and accuracy.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and present findings in a clear and concise manner. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Teamwork: You will be working as part of a cross functional team, so you should to be able to collaborate effectively with others.
Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated with the latest trends in Decision Support (BI) and reporting.
