One of our new challenges is that AI assistants increasingly become key booking channels, your expertise will ensure Strawberry remains at the forefront, leveraging data to enhance user experiences and drive bookings through these intelligent platforms.

Be a Data-Driven Leader:

As a Data Governance Manager, you'll play a crucial role in empowering Strawberry to become a truly data-driven organization. We're fostering a culture where decisions are informed by diverse perspectives, and by data recognizing the interconnectedness of our business and the impact of change across all areas. In this newly created role, you will be instrumental in establishing our data governance framework, driving data quality initiatives, and guiding the organization on its data governance journey. You will help us make critical decisions on how to start, define processes, build the team and select appropriate tools to ensure our data is a trusted and valuable asset.  

What You'll Do:

  • Data Governance Strategy: Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's data governance program, including defining roles, responsibilities, and processes.

  • Framework and Policies: Lead the development and maintenance of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate data governance committee meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to align data governance with business objectives.

  • Process Oversight: Oversee the implementation and monitoring of data governance processes, including data access controls, data retention policies, and data lifecycle management.

  • Data Literacy: Ensure the development and delivery of data governance training programs to increase data literacy and promote data management best practices across the organization.

  • Data Standards: Establish and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data classification frameworks.

  • Data Quality Management: Oversee data profiling and analysis activities to assess and improve the quality, completeness, and accuracy of data assets.
  • Data Quality Awareness: Build awareness of the importance and impact of data quality (or bad data quality) on the ability of the business to meet its own objectives

  • Data Governance Roadmap: Develop and maintain a data governance roadmap aligned with the organization's overall data strategy.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives, track key metrics, and recommend improvements.

  • Data Policies: Ensure data policies are developed and implemented, including data retention, data privacy, data use, and data regulations.

  • Access Management: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure appropriate access rules are in place and access groups are defined and maintained.

  • Issue Resolution: Lead the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex data issues related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness, delegating to data stewards as appropriate.

  • Tool and Process Selection: Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and establish best practices for data management processes.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience in data management, with a significant portion focused on data governance strategy and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, managing data governance initiatives and teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective data governance strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data governance concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational change and foster a data-driven culture.
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, data governance frameworks, and data quality principles.
  • Familiarity with metadata management and data dictionary tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Familiarity with data-related technologies and tools such as ETL, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools.
  • A meticulous approach and unwavering commitment to data quality.  
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.  

What You'll Need:

  • BSc/BA in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, or related field).  
  • 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in data profiling and data analysis techniques using tools like SQL, Excel, or data profiling software
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).  
  • Solid working knowledge of Cloud Data Warehouses and SQL (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
