Vice President Technology Strategy

At Strawberry, we're on a quest to redefine the hospitality experience through innovation & technology. In 2023 we launched our new mother brand, Strawberry, and we are transforming from a traditional hotel company to a universe of offers and experiences for our guests and customers.

We are now searching for a Vice President Technology Strategy to define and execute our overarching technology roadmap. You will be responsible for shaping Strawberry’s technology future, with a strong emphasis on leveraging company data, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI).

You will command our strategy across enterprise architecture, data platforms, infrastructure, and security, ensuring technology decisions empower business objectives, drive innovation, and protect our digital assets. Leading teams across these critical domains, you will collaborate closely with business, to deliver secure, future-ready, and data-driven platforms. A strategic mindset, strong commercial understanding, and exceptional execution skills are crucial for success.

What you will be doing:

• Holistic Technology Strategy: Define and execute a comprehensive technology strategy across enterprise architecture, data platforms, infrastructure, and security, ensuring tight alignment with Strawberry’s business goals.
• Enterprise Architecture: Lead the design and governance of our enterprise technology architecture, guaranteeing scalability, reliability, security, and the effective integration of data and AI capabilities across all solutions.
• Data & AI Innovation: Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning platforms, and championing their adoption to create business value, enhance decision-making, and strengthen security.
• Security & Compliance: Establish and enforce robust security policies, standards, and a security-aware culture across all technology domains, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and systems.
• Leadership & Team Development: Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams in architecture, data, infrastructure, and security. Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders and the VP of Insights and Analytics to translate their needs into secure, scalable, and data-centric technology solutions and infrastructure requirements.
• Financial Management: Manage budgets, resources, and vendor selections across your domains, ensuring optimal allocation, return on investment, and alignment with strategic goals.
• Strategic Guidance: Provide expert counsel to senior management on the technology landscape, including the strategic use of company data and the potential and risks associated with AI and machine learning.

Who we think you are:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field with a strong emphasis on data science and machine learning.
• 15+ years of extensive experience in technology leadership, with a strong focus on strategy, architecture, infrastructure, security, and data management, including direct experience with AI/ML technologies.
• A proven track record of developing and executing successful technology strategies and comprehensive security programs in a large, complex organization.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), cloud computing, data architecture, and AI/ML platforms (e.g., Azure ML, AWS SageMaker).
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive stakeholders and technical teams and articulate complex concepts in business terms.
• Experience managing large, cross-functional teams and budgets.
• A strategic mindset focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and the responsible and ethical application of AI.
• Relevant certifications in architecture (e.g., TOGAF), security (e.g., CISSP, CISM), or data/AI are highly desirable.
• Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

You will be a part of the leadership team in the Tech department, and report directly to CDTO, Kari Anna Fiskvik.
