Director of Operations Comfort Hotel

Comfort Hotel is the Nordic’s leading budget hotel chain and we are seeking a Director of Operations for our portfolio of Norwegian Hotels. 

This is a central role requiring a strategic mindset, great implementation skills and an understanding of portfolio management. You will be the operational engine for a significant portion of our hotel portfolio, ensuring our strategies are translated into operation, our execution is flawless, and our hotels are meeting their targets.
While you will hold a strategic view, meeting the targets means coaching and sparring with your general managers and their management teams on an operational level. 

Overall Ambition

The main objective for this role is to translate strategies into operational excellence. You will be responsible for the portfolio's balance score board - with KPIs on our triple bottom line covering people, planet and profit. This involves establishing great trust both within the hotel organisations and with other stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Strategy & Leadership: Set and lead the brand's overall operational strategy together with the rest of the central management team. Provide clear direction to all individual hotels within the brand.
• Portfolio Management: Take the lead in optimizing portfolio performance. Develop and implement SOPs to maximize profitability. As our hotels in Norway are your office you should be prepared for extensive traveling. 
• Team Development: Lead, coach, and support a team of general managers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development to help them achieve the desired results. You need to take diversity seriously, knowing that people with different experiences, backgrounds and skills will add value to us. 
• Data-Driven Performance: Work to ensure all activities and decisions are based on data and facts. Develop and follow up on synchronized KPIs across all relevant functions to drive continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the crucial link between Comfort Hotel operations and central Strawberry functions. Ensure dedicated delivery through building relationships and trust. 

What You Bring to the Role

• Operational Experience: You have senior leadership experience within the hospitality industry, preferably at General Manager level or higher. 
• Leadership: A strong, flexible leader with the ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment and a genuine interest in developing people. You experience success when your teams flourish. 
• Strategic & Operational Mindset: Strategic, forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate key market trends, while also possessing the ability to engage at an operational level to drive execution.
• Communication: Strong and proactive communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage stakeholders effectively.
• Sustainability & Select Service: The future of hospitality should interest you - a lot. Select service, sustainability, market trends and development should make for great discussions.

For this role we expect you to be near fluent in English (our corporate language) together with at least one Scandinavian language.
