Skarsnuten Mountain Resort & Spa is looking for a pizza chef with a passion for cooking to join our team and help create unforgettable dining experiences for our guests. As a key member of our culinary staff, you'll be preparing delicious, high-quality pizzas, contributing to menu development, and ensuring food is presented at its best. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion dough, sauces, cheeses, and toppings according to recipes and standards.
  • Stretch, assemble, and bake pizzas to order, maintaining consistent quality, appearance, and flavor.
  • Operate and maintain pizza ovens (wood-fired, gas, or electric) safely and efficiently; manage oven temperatures and cooking times.
  • Monitor inventory of pizza ingredients; rotate stock and minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pizza station; follow HACCP/food safety guidelines and local regulations.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor junior kitchen staff on pizza techniques, prep, and plating.
  • Collaborate on menu development, seasonal specials, and new recipes; suggest ingredient sourcing improvements.
  • Ensure timely plating and delivery during peak service to meet service standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with prep and general kitchen duties as needed.

This is a permanent / temporary position for 100% with a start date to be agreed upon. The position requires working varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

You’ll shine here if you are:

  • Proven experience as a pizza chef/pizzaiolo in a busy restaurant or pizzeria
  • Expert dough handling: mixing, proofing, shaping, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with the specific oven type used (wood-fired, deck, or commercial gas/electric); ability to manage heat zones and cook consistently.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of sauces, cheeses, and common topping combinations.
  • Understanding of ingredient sourcing, seasonality, and quality control.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
